Summary of Howie Carr's The Brothers Bulger

He was the quintessential Irish politician, and he went to jail briefly for taking a civil service examination for a constituent. #3 The Bulgers were a family of small-timers, and that was what they were, even in their heyday. They were not a family of entrepreneurs, and they were not interested in rising above their station. #4 Whitey was more his father’s son than Billy. Whitey was rarely at home, even as a boy, and would often keep to himself. The projects were not what they have since become. There were no drugs or unwed mothers, and next to no welfare.
