The Cruise of the Molly Lane
In the fall of 1850, Florida is one of the newest states in the Union. It is here that happy-go-lucky gambler Joseph P. Sutcliff flees after an argument on the Mississippi turns lethal. Arriving in Jacksonville, he books passage on the steamship Molly Lane for a journey on the St. Johns River into Florida's untamed interior. Along the way, he meets fellow gambler and kindred spirit Charles Lydecker, Captain Eziekial Howard, the master of the Molly Lane, and the beautiful and enigmatic Jeanette Hale. Soon two other passengers—murder and intrigue—have Sutcliff and his new friends fighting for their lives against ruthless river pirates and an unknown killer. Sutcliff will have to woo and charm Lady Luck to survive in this hostile frontier.
