I Played it Perfect at Home

I'm sure many recognize the book title, having uttered the statement at a lesson or two as a kid. The good news is I've found a way to make that happen. The bad news is it requires patience and attention. A key concept is to "try not to keep the beat" in the learning phase. I know, I know it sounds almost sacrilegious. I'll leave you to wonder about why for now. Other original principles are covered in the book with advice for both students and teachers of music. For example, how to hear a rhythm using your own voice out loud versus whispering. Along the way, exercises and printed musical examples are presented, physical factors and use of body parts discussed, the creation of tone described, use of positive affirmations explained, and more.
